“A crimson chandelier dangles from a rustic wood ceiling. An antique bar adjoins modern appliances. Mismatched chairs line starched white tablecloths. Candles flicker on tabletops as an eclectic mix of music sets the tone. The scene feels special but not pretentious.” – Karen Spezia (TRIBEZA September 2011) The SWOOP House is a charming 1930’s bungalow that was saved from demolition in 2008 and has since been transformed into one of the city’s most distinctive destinations for socializing & dining. It is situated in the middle of an edible gardenscape in a sleepy East Austin neighborhood and staffed with some of the friendliest folks you’ll ever meet. It’s the perfect venue for an intimate birthday dinner, baby or bridal shower, wedding reception, or holiday party. The SWOOP House is also home to Supper Friends, a dining experience that is open to the public where guests delight in suppers plated right in front of them by our esteemed chefs. Supper Friends has hosted dinners created by the likes of Jay Huang formerly of Uchi, Shion of Ramen Tatsu-ya, Jesse Griffiths of Dai Due, and Blair Warsham of Graffeats from San Francisco. If you would like to find out about upcoming Supper Friends, please visit our calendar, join our mailing list, or give us a call at 512.385-6700!
